The Four Points by Sheraton Columbus Airport is a modern full-service hotel, located on I-185 at the airport. The hotel is close to commercial, entertainment and shopping areas. Columbus lies on the border between Georgia and Alabama; it was established as a port on the Chattahoochee River in 1828. Just 40 minutes away is Callaway Gardens, a world-class resort that opened in 1952. Callaway's 14,000 acres include lakes, lavish flower gardens and the largest free-flight butterfly conservatory in North America. Also 40 minutes from the hotel is Warm Springs, GA, in whose therapeutic waters Franklin D. Roosevelt sought relief from the ravages of polio. The 32nd president's beloved "Little White House" remains much as it was when he died here on April 12, 1945.
